About
Conor was born and raised in the small town of Newark, NY and is an ardent Buffalo Bills fan (which probably isn't the most important thing about him, but if we’re going to start with his arbitrary place of birth, it’s a very relevant detail).
In fourth grade, he was named “Most Likely to Become President” by his teacher and has been haunted by that pressure ever since. In eighth grade, he won a county-wide speech contest on the topic of “Your Hero.” He waxed lyrical about the brash and rebellious ski racer Bode Miller and hopefully taught all the other kids who tried to make a case for their parents, Gandhi or Albert Einstein a lesson about the perils of playing it safe.
After high school, he fled (yes, at the time it felt that urgent) to the University of Chicago where he double majored in English Literature and the Anthropological Studies of Hormonal Young Adults, Cheap Beer and Plastic-cup-based Games. The University has yet to recognize his mastery of the latter and only awarded him a degree in the former.
Upon graduation, Conor heeded Hollywood’s Siren song and continued his journey west. In Los Angeles he worked day-jobs across the entertainment industry and spent his free time writing screenplays. His work has been set up at Relativity Studios and optioned by Cassian Elwes (DALLAS BUYERS CLUB, LEE DANIELS' THE BUTLER). He has been a finalist for several screenwriting initiatives by The Black List and has been named to The Tracking Board’s annual “Young and Hungry: Screenwriters on the Verge” list.
In 2017, his wife took a new job based in London and they escaped Trump’s America just in time. Conor decided to pursue an MBA at Oxford in an effort to gain some perspective on his life and work. (Or at least that’s what he told people. In reality, he just wanted to wear a cape and feel like Harry Potter for a year). After testing a few other career paths, he realized he still loves storytelling more than any other type of work...and that not even an MBA from Oxford could make him qualified for anything else.
So, with a renewed vigour and appreciation, Conor is writing again.
He’s most content on top of a mountain any time of year, and he particularly enjoys skiing down them in winter. He loves sailing and being around the water. He never tires of a bold red wine, a smoky whisky from Islay or a spicy Belgian tripel. He will go out of his way for a good meal (like, even to Slovenia).
He knows that he’ll never be able to read all the books he wants to read, see all the sights he wants to see or spend enough time with his family and friends.
But he’s going to give it his best shot anyway.
